T V Jayan, currently Senior Deputy Editor with The Hindu Business Line, has 25+ years of experience across news agency, newspaper and magazine journalism. He belongs to the very first batch of people who got formal training in science journalism in the country in 1990 and writes mainly on Science, Agriculture, Environment and Health. He is very passionate about environmental, public health, developmental and social issues. In the past, he has worked with The Press Trust of India, Deccan Herald, Down To Earth, and The Telegraph. covering. He specialises in writing on scientific developments reported in peer-reviewed research journals. Outside work hours, he has been associating himself with people’s science movements and also with a social enterprise involved in designing new mathematics curriculum for school children. Jayan has also contributed to books on Indian scientists, science communication and natural disasters and has regularly participated in science communication/journalism seminars and workshops.
